General Ledger

The General Ledger application is the heart of your accounting system.  Entries from other applications flow into the General Ledger, giving you timely financial information that is vital to your decision making.

All the applications that IST offers can be interfaced to the General Ledger application. This means that the transactions that you generate on a daily basis in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, for example, are automatically passed to the General Ledger.  Since this represents the majority of the entries that normally would be made to the General Ledger, the number of manual entries required in minimal.

The financial statements can be designed to fit your specific requirements.  Sub-schedules may also be prepared to provide additional detail in specific areas.  The budget function allows you to generate financials comparing actual results to budget, as well as to last year’s results.  Your budget figures can be easily adjusted to develop new budget numbers from the previous years.

The General Ledger offers a high degree of flexibility.  You set up your own chart of accounts using an account number of up to twelve positions.  The account number can be used to define divisions, departments, etc.  The personalized financial statements let you include ratio analysis, arithmetic calculations for percentages and averages, rounding, consolidated statements, and print time inserts for headers and footers in your reports.  The flexible posting capability lets you post to any period at any time during the year.  Because you can access data in all fiscal periods, you can easily make adjustments
