Managed Inventory Overview
NewVision offers several options to support the contractual
arrangements with your customers. All of these options offer
more flexibility to you and your customer and the
opportunity to reduce the overhead in these arrangements so
that you can concentrate on managing the account.

Remote Bin Stocking
The Remote Bin Stocking product is designed to support your
Bin Stocking programs. It allows your employees or your
customer’s employees to create an order on a hand-held data
terminal by scanning a bar code on the bins. The bar code
can represent your Item ID, the customer’s Item ID or can
simply be a license plate that cross-references to the
actual number.
The order created in the hand-held can be uploaded by being
connected to the server or can be transmitted to the server
via modem. This flexibility makes it practical to provide
Bin Stocking programs to customers who are not located in
your immediate geographical area.
Consigned Inventory (Partner+Plus)
Partner+Plus was designed specifically to handle inventory
that you own and consign to a customer at the customer’s
location. A personal computer at your customer’s site
controls all the functions of the consigned inventory. All
of the consigned product is barcoded for easy identification
and as the product is received at the consigned inventory
site it is scanned into the inventory in the personal
computer. As goods are pulled from the consigned stock they
are again scanned which relieves them from the inventory.
This usage information is transmitted automatically by the
PC to the NewVision software in your server on a daily
period basis. |

The usage information received from the PC by the NewVision
software is used to create a verified sales order for the
products that have been used. A reorder process will then
automatically create a transfer order to replenish the goods
that need to be restocked. On a periodic basis, the
consigned inventory file is checked to determine any product
that is at the reorder point. This process creates a Pick
Ticket which is used to restock the remote consigned
inventory location.
This process, performed automatically by the NewVision
software, eliminates the manual steps required to support a
consigned inventory and insures the availability of product
to your customer.
Most of the labor intensive functions associated with
consigned goods are eliminated; the review of stock, the
preparation of the transfer document, and the preparation of
the invoice. Partner+Plus frees you and your staff from the
everyday functions and allows you to concentrate on customer
service and additional business.
EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)
Work with your partners, customers or vendors, in exchanging
critical business information in a seamless EDI environment.
The NewVision EDI gives you maximum flexibility to meet the
demands of your business partners.
The EDI module has been designed as a set of tools that
provide the user with a maximum amount of flexibility when
dealing with their trading partners. These tools can be used
to map any NewVision data element to an ANSI X12 standard.
Once the mapping is in place, the Transaction Management
tools allow the user to easily manage the day-to-day process
of conducting electronic commerce.

Other Partnership Arrangements
IST has been very successful in supporting the special
partnership arrangements that our customers create with
their customers. This has involved accepting purchase orders
through FTP and automatically converting these purchase
orders to sales orders, or creating web based order entry
points into the NewVision software to meet the special
requirements of a customer. Whatever the requirements, IST
will go the extra mile to insure that special partnership
arrangements can be handled. |
